Yesterday (JUL 1) I heard some news that almost made me “hit the floor.” News 14 Carolina reported that a man paid over $2 million to have dinner with Warren Buffett, the richest person in the world according to Forbes Magazine. Even though it was for a fundraiser, I still couldn’t believe it. This man outbid several people just to enjoy Warren Buffett’s presence.
Aren’t you glad GOD doesn’t charge for HIS presence in our lives? If HE did, we couldn’t afford it, even if we combined all the financial resources in the world! In the verse above, JESUS expresses HIS desire to fellowship with the church at Laodicea, in particular, and all Christians in general. Notice that HE doesn’t list a fee for HIS presence; that’s good news! All we have to do is let HIM in, and HE’LL abide with us!
It’s apparent: the best thing in life – JESUS CHRIST – is free! Thank GOD for the gift of HIS SON, through whom we have access to eternal life!
