I spend a lot of time with children – life’s best educators. I’ve found two of my little companions to be extremely entertaining and enlightening – Noah and Caleb (see attached photo, 2006). I’m most impressed by how they defend each other – when one gets in trouble, most of the time, the other will speak on his behalf. And they’re so convincing; if you listen long enough, you’ll retract the incriminating evidence. 🙂
Moses serves the same purpose in today’s recharge. When the Israelites blew it, he pleaded on their behalf to reverse GOD’S pending judgment. Likewise, JESUS defends us against the devil’s charges. No wonder John wrote, “But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous” (1 John 2:1, New Living Translation). What an awesome SAVIOR HE is!
