Yesterday I visited my dad’s church, and it was an incredible worship experience! Part of the thrill was a conversation I had with one of the members. I presumed it would be a brief interaction, until he started proclaiming GOD’S goodness. Testimony after testimony, he announced the favor of GOD in his life. Even as my patience grew thin, he continued praising GOD! 🙂
What a wonderful “rest stop” in the Christian journey – a place where you can’t stop praising GOD! That’s where Peter and John were in the text cited above. Prior to this verse, the religious authorities censored Peter and John; they told them not to speak or teach about JESUS again (Acts 4:18). Peter and John had a different plan, and they didn’t need to consider this request. If I can paraphrase their response, I think it went something like, “This is an easy choice. There’s no way we can stop telling about CHRIST’S goodness!”
If you think about it, it’s impossible to stop praising GOD. As a matter of fact, HE’S the reason you’re alive today. No wonder the scriptures note, “For in him we live and move and exist” (Acts 17:28, New Living Translation). Always remember WHO helps you be you, and you’ll always have a praise on your lips!
HE’S worthy …
