I heard some awesome praise reports last week that I’d like to share. On Monday, my uncle received good news: the procedure to remove cancerous tumors from his prostate was completely successful. On Tuesday, my aunt completed her last chemotherapy treatment, ever. At first glance, these testimonies seem to highlight advancements in medical technology. But honestly, these miracles are a reminder that GOD still heals!
The woman in today’s text had a first-hand experience with GOD’S healing power. She was sick; she had an issue of blood (hemorrhage) and her condition was beyond medical intervention. For 12 years she wasted time, energy, and resources to find relief from her sickness. But when she heard about JESUS, she pressed through the crowd, believing HE could heal her. And she was right: she received healing the moment she touched HIM!
This recharge is just a reminder that HE never stopped healing! No matter how great or small your sickness, HE can heal you. No wonder James wrote, “Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well …” (James 5:14-15, New Living Translation).
