JESUS said, “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be” (Matthew 6:21, New Living Translation), and nothing exposes our treasure quite like our prayers. Think about it: we seldom, if ever, talk to GOD about things that aren’t important to us. Now for the tough part – think about your prayers. How do they flow? What are your routine requests? If GOD let you ask HIM for anything, then what would be your first request?
Solomon had the awesome privilege of asking GOD for anything he desired. As a king, he could have made some very selfish requests: “LORD, let me reign forever. Give me more money than I can spend. And, make sure my palace is so large that I get lost in it.” But, he didn’t. Solomon’s prayer was selfless and impressive: “Help me excel in what you’ve called me to do.” And how did Solomon pray such an awesome prayer? Simple: he loved the LORD!
If pleasing GOD is your priority, then it will show up in your prayers. So, check your prayers. When GOD hears your desire to please HIM, HE’LL bless you like you never imagined!
… and HE will give you all you need from day to day if you live for HIM and make the Kingdom of GOD your primary concern (Matthew 6:33, New Living Translation).
